Health is one of the most important things in life. It affects our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Many factors play an important role in staying healthy life styles. To maintain health we should follow some basic tips, such as eats and drinks healthy, have a sound sleep, be physically and mentally active, manage stress and depression, quit smoking, limit your alcohol consumption etc.

1. Eat natural foods:

Now-a days, most of the foods found in the market are processed food. Those are not real food. These foods contain chemical that cause various serious disease. On the other hand, natural foods are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which play an important role for our health.

Fresh natural fruits and vegetables contain essential amount of anti-oxidant which protect us from various chronic diseases such as high blood presser, heart disease, cancer etc. It also helps to reduce risk of heart disease by maintaining blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

2. Drink plenty of water:

Without water we cannot imagine our health. Everyday a person loses 8 to 10 glass of water through perspiring, urine and bowel movements. Water can prevent dehydration, Regulate body temperature and flushes body waste.

It also helps to maintain blood pressure, digestion, and circulation. We should drink at least 8 to 10 glass of water every day to stay hydrated and maintaining health.  

3. Drink green tea:

Green tea is the most powerful antioxidant and healthiest beverage of the world. It contain polyphenol antioxidant that reduce inflammation, protect cells from damage. Green tea has one of the highest concentrations of antioxidants of any tea.

Consuming green tea may positively affect skin health, help with weight loss, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. According to a report from the International Institute of Sustainable Development, tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world, after water.

4. Regular exercise:

Exercise plays an important role for maintaining health. Regular exercise makes a man perfect and fit for every activities. It is a powerful medicine. Exercise prevents health problems, builds muscle strength, boosts energy, and can help reduce stress.

Physical activity not only controls weight but also protects from various serious disease. It can also help to improve energy level and better sleep. Walking, Running, biking etc. are the strengthen exercise to maintaining health.

5. Get sufficient sleep:

Sufficient sleep improves our physical and mental health and prevents various heart disease. Sleep is essential to every process in the body. Lack of enough sleep causes various serious health problems like anxiety, depression, diabetes, stroke etc.

During sleep, body works to support healthy brain function and maintain physical health. It also helps growth and development of human bodies. About 7 to 8 hours quality sleep each night is needed to maintaining health.

6. Regular Medical check-up:

Regular health check-up helps to identify risk factors for certain diseases. This check-up can help someone to know the current medical condition properly. Medical check-up is a comprehensive health examination activity.

By carrying out this examination, it is hoped that any health problems or diseases that a person may be suffering from can be detected early on. That way, planning treatment methods and appropriate treatment can be carried out immediately and the disease does not become more severe.

7. Eat less meat and Sugar:

Meat contains important nutrients, including protein, fat, vitamin-B, and iron. But excessive eating meat can raise a person’s risk of certain chronic disease and other health problems.

Some meats are high in fat, especially saturated fat. Eating a lot of saturated fat can raise cholesterol levels in the blood, and having high cholesterol raises risk of coronary heart disease.

Sugar is a white poison. Excessive eating sugar causes various serious disease, such as, high blood presser, heart and lungs disease and stock.

8. Get some sunlight:

Sunlight is essential for human health and well-being. It provides vitamin-D which helps in the absorption of calcium, which is the most important nutrient for better bone and teeth development. It also helps lowering blood pressure, preventing disease, and promoting good mental health.

Sunlight builds the immune system. To maintain healthy blood levels, 10–30 minutes of mid-day sunlight, several times per week is needed.

9. Avoid smoking:

Smoking is a bad habit which is directly affected of our physical and mental health. It can cause long-term negative effects on the body, including heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. It is also the reason for tuberculosis, certain eye diseases and rheumatoid arthritis.

It damages our immune system and productivity. We should avoid smoking to promote better health.

10. Manage stress:

Stress is a feeling of being under abnormal pressure, whether from an increased workload or an argument with a family member. Stress affects us in lots of ways, both physically and emotionally. Excessive stress can lead to illness such as heart disease and mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.

Stress trigger several processes in our bodies, including stress hormone release, metabolism, and immune function. Long periods of stress increase inflammation in our body.To maintaining health stress should be manage with physical exercise, meditation, yoga, and deep-breathing exercise.

11. Limit alcohol consumption:

Alcohol affects our body in many ways. Some effects are immediate and last only a while; others accumulate over time and may significantly affect your physical and mental health. Long-term alcohol consumption contributes to more than 200 different types of diseases and injuries.

Excessive use of alcohol can lead to the development of chronic diseases and other serious problems including: high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke and liver disease. If you choose to drink alcohol, low level drinking is less risky than heavy drinking or binge drinking.

12. Positive relationship:

Relationships are one of the most important aspects for health. Positive relationships help to decrease anxiety, depression, strengthen immune system and recover from disease. On the other hand unhealthy relationships can be damaging and negatively impact on better health.

People who are more socially connected to family, friends, or their community are happier, physically healthier, and live longer, with fewer mental health problems than people who are less well connected.

13. Maintaining social circles:

Social circle is a support network. Social circle provides numerous psychological and physical benefits. Our friends and family can play a vital role in our mental well-being and can help us manage mental health issues such as stress, anxiety and depression.

Friends and family provide you emotional support. If you struggle with a mental illness, like depression or anxiety, friendships can help you cope and feel better. Supportive friends can reduce feelings of isolation, boost self-confidence and self-worth, and provide a distraction from rumination and negative thoughts.

14.Positive mindset:

A positive mindset can help improve various aspects of our lives, including our mental and physical health, relationships, productivity, and success. It allows us to approach challenges with a can-do attitude, and to focus on finding solutions instead of dwelling on problems.

Positive thinking is important because it can have a beneficial impact on both physical and mental well-being. People who maintain a more positive outlook on life cope better with stress, have better immunity, and have a lower risk of premature death. Positive thinking can lower a person’s risk of death from serious illnesses, including cancer, infections, heart disease, stroke, and lung conditions.

14. Limit screen time:

Now-a days screens are a part of everyone’s life. But too much screen time can lead to obesity, sleep problems, chronic neck and back problems, depression, anxiety and lower test scores in children. Children should limit screen time to 1 to 2 hours per day. Adults should also try to limit screen time outside of work hours..
