10 Basic rules of good health

“Health is wealth” A healthy body is free from diseases. Good health means the body is not affected by any disease whereas the ability of a person to accomplish various social tasks given to him.

It can lead soundness of body and mind. We should eat balanced diet, drink plenty of water and take regular physical exercise to ensure better health. Good health is the key to live a happier and more fulfilling life. It also keeps us fit for our daily work and free from diseases. Everyone should maintain some basic rules to achieve good health.

1. Drink more water:

Man can live few days without food, but only one day without water. Everyday a person lose 8 to 10 glass of water through perspiring, urine and bowel movements. Everymen need at least 10 to 12 glass of water daily that is why drinking of more water is important for our everyday life.

Dehydration can happen when the body’s fluids are low. It can be life threatening, especially to babies, children and the elderly. Water can prevent dehydration, Regulate body temperature and flushes body waste. It helps to protect spinal cord and other sensitive tissues.

It also helps to maintain blood pressure, digestion, and circulation. We should drink at least 3-4 liters water throughout the day to stay hydrated and maintaining good health.

2. Get enough sleep:

Sleep is essential to every process in the body. If you do not get enough sleep, you will not be well. Lack of enough sleep causes various serious health problems like anxiety, depression, diabetes, stroke etc. resulting increase stress levels and decreased immune function.

About eight hours quality sleep each night is needed for good health. During sleep, body works to support healthy brain function and maintain physical health. Sleep also helps growth and development from child to adult stage.

3. Regular exercise:

Exercise makes a man perfect and fit for all activities. It plays an important role for good health. It is a powerful medicine. Exercise prevents health problems, builds strength, boosts energy and can help to reduce stress.

Physical activity not only controls weight but also protect us from various serious disease. It helps to strengthen muscles and bones and boosts human mood. It can also help to improve energy level and better sleep.

4. Consuming more Fruits and Vegetables:

Fruits and Vegetables are the powerhouse of nutrition. More fruits and vegetables have to consume for getting proper nutrition and functioning bodies activities.

Fruits and vegetable contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber that are essential for our body growth and development.

5. Eat a balanced diet:

A balanced diet is a diet consisting of a variety of different types of food and providing adequate amounts of the nutrients necessary for good health. It maintains overall health.

A balanced diet provides the body with essential nutrition: fluid, macronutrients, micronutrients, adequate fiber and food energy. We should make each meal with a combination of Carbohydrates, Protein, Fats, Vitamins and Minerals which provide the necessary nutrients for proper functioning of the body.

For good health we should avoid soda, aerated drinks, processed foods and excessive caffeine drinks.

6. Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption:

Smoking is a bad habit which is directly affected of our physical and mental health. It causes various serious diseases like cancer, heart and lung disease, stroke, chronic and bronchitis. It also reasons for tuberculosis, certain eye diseases and rheumatoid arthritis.

It damages our immune system and productivity. We should avoid smoking, limit of alcohol consumption to promote overall health.

7. Regular medical check-up:

Regular medical check-ups play a vital role to maintaining good health. Seeking timely medical attention ensures proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan which can lead to detection and treatment of illness. It can help to find out potential health issues before they become a problem.

Early detection gives you the best chance for getting the right treatment quickly avoiding any complications. By getting the correct health services, screenings, and treatment you are taking important steps toward living a longer, healthier life.

8. Manage stress:

Stress is a significant contributor to depression which causes various health problems. It also causes physical and mental illness. For good health stress will manage with physical exercise, Yoga, practice deep-breathing exercise and meditation.

Effective stress management helps break the hold stress, so a person can be happier, healthier, and more productive.

9. Positive relationship:

People who have a positive relationship are more likely to feel happier and satisfied with their lives. They are less likely to have physical and mental health problems.

Strong, Positive relationships help to decrease anxiety and depression. It helps to strengthen immune system and recover from disease.

10. Keep positive mindset:

A positive mindset means that you have a positive expectation that things will turn out well and that you will succeed. Making positive changes in your diet and lifestyle in turn increases your vibrancy, energy and positivity.

It helps to boost confidence of daily activities and making it easier to handle any health problems effectively. It also helps to manage anxiety and depression, Decreased risk of heart attacks and heart disease.


“When money is lost, something is lost; but when health is lost everything is lost.”  A man of good health always remains cheerful and happy. So, everyone should maintain good health for happy and successful life. It is directly related to leading a productive life.

As health is the state of physical, mental and social well-being, having good health is important. It also plays an important role to conduct daily activities properly. It is the root of all happiness in life. None can concentrate on any work without better health.

A healthy poor man can be happy in life living in a poor hut. On the other hand, an unhealthy landlord can’t be happy in life living in a beautiful building.
